Pedestrian Accidents

No one is more vulnerable on the roads than a pedestrian. Driver inattention is the leading cause of cars colliding with pedestrians. Drivers have a responsibility to be careful and watchful when pedestrians are present, but that is not always the case. The most common pedestrian accident occurs on crosswalks when cars make right turns through intersections. When a pedestrian is hit by a motor vehicle, the injuries are almost always serious and life changing. Victims of pedestrian and bicycle accidents often have a difficult time in pursuing a full recovery when accidents involve hit-and-run motorists or underinsured drivers. Our firm has the experience and the drive to aggressively pursue all sources of recovery for our clients.

Truck Accidents

Truck accidents cause some of the most debilitating injuries of all the vehicle crashes on Nevada’s highways and roads. Serious burns, paraplegia, quadriplegia, long-lasting head and neck trauma as well as a long list of broken bones and soft tissue injuries often result from collisions between heavy trucks and smaller autos.

Taxi Cab Accidents

When passengers get into a taxi they usually anticipate a trouble-free drive to their destination because they are in the hands of a professional. They don’t expect to experience a crushed bone, a head or neck injury, or a broken arm or leg. Yet every day in Ontario, particularly in the busy artieries of the GTA, taxi-cab passengers are injured as the result of negligent driving.

Dog Bites and Animal Attacks

Nearly everyone has been warned about a dog, or has been worried about a potential animal attack. Coping with a dog attack can be emotionally and physically tough. For the injured person, there can be long-term physical and emotional damage from the bite/attack. It is more than just the visible injuries – the scars on hands and legs, facial disfigurement, the countless hours spent in surgery to repair the damage and remove the scars – it's emotional damage as well. Many victims of dog bites suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other psychological disorders. However, violent animal attacks affect more than just the victim; it changes the lives of parents, friends, and loved ones. If the attack happened in a public place or somewhere that you had a right to be, you may be entitled to compensation.

Brain Injury

Brain injury occurs suddenly, without warning. In an instant life is changed, forever. Every day we participate in activities that produce endless risks for sustaining a brain injury; events include a car accident while driving to the grocery store, a fall from a bike, or a blow to the head. Each year, approximately 600 people out of every 100,000 sustain a minor brain injury, and 11 out of 100,000 suffer a severe brain injury. More than 30% of severe traumatic brain injuries are fatal, and the rest leave the individual with lifelong disabilities. Traumatic brain injuries are the leading cause of death and disability in persons under the age of 44. There are two types of head injuries which can lead to damage within the brain (closed head injuries and penetrating head injuries). The physical damage within the brain can occur in three ways: bruising (bleeding), swelling, and tearing. Traumatic brain injury is characterized by a loss of consciousness. Typically, the longer an individual remains unconscious the greater the sustained damage. The resulting physical, cognitive, behavioral, and/or emotional complications can last for months or become permanent. You don’t have to struggle through it alone – let us help you with your burden.

Wrongful Death

Losing a loved one is hard. When a family member is suddenly taken away, families may find that every part of their lives is changed. Families lose a provider of income, childcare or other home support as well as a source of emotional support. Plans for the future are suddenly and forever outdated. Tragically, children may be deprived of the love and support of their parents, as effect of a wrongful death that can last a lifetime. In addition to all of this, bills keep rolling in, regardless of a family's ability to deal with them in the aftermath of terrible grief. A wrongful death is a death caused by the negligence or misconduct of another person or organization. Ontario has passed laws defining a wrongful death and allowing the survivors to seek compensation for their loved one's death from the people or organizations whose carelessness contributed to the death. We know that families of a wrongfully killed person have a lot on their minds. That is why we are dedicated to protecting victims' rights and helping them get the best possible outcome from a wrongful death lawsuit.
